IHFA and IIDCA Establish Strategic International Cooperation to Connect Latin America and South Asia
International Health & Fitness Association (IHFA) and Instituto Internacional del Deporte y las Ciencias Aplicadas (IIDCA) have established a strategic framework for international cooperation designed to strengthen education, professional development, certification, employability, mobility, and networking across the global health, fitness, sports, wellness, and allied sciences sectors.
The agreement brings together two organizations with complementary regional strengths: IIDCA as a platform for cooperation and development in Latin America, and IHFA as a platform for cooperation and development in South Asia. Together, the organizations aim to build a stronger international bridge between Latin America and South Asia.
A Strategic Alliance for Global Professional Development
Under the International Framework Agreement for Cooperation, Reciprocal Membership, Educational Recognition and Professional Development, IIDCA and IHFA have agreed to establish a permanent framework for cooperation.
The partnership focuses on reciprocal institutional membership, access to educational opportunities, continuing professional development, certification and recognition processes, employability, professional mobility, institutional partnerships, international programs, and ambassador networks.
The collaboration is particularly significant because it creates a structured connection between the Latin American and South Asian professional ecosystems, opening possibilities for institutions, educators, professionals, academies, healthcare organizations, fitness businesses, sports organizations, and other stakeholders to engage internationally.
Reciprocal Institutional Membership
One of the key elements of the agreement is free reciprocal institutional membership.
IIDCA will grant IHFA free institutional membership, while IHFA will grant IIDCA free institutional membership for the duration of the agreement. This allows both organizations to present themselves as institutional members or partners of one another while maintaining complete legal and organizational independence.
The agreement also recognizes IIDCA and IHFA as peer organizations for cooperation and sectoral reference, with IIDCA primarily representing the Latin American region and IHFA primarily supporting cooperation across South Asia.
Connecting Latin America and South Asia
The geographical scope of the partnership gives the collaboration a distinct international dimension.
IIDCA will primarily develop cooperation activities relating to Latin America, while IHFA will focus on South Asia, including India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bhutan, Maldives, and Afghanistan.
Through this structure, the organizations aim to encourage:
Latin America ↔ South Asia
through:
Education + Certification + CPD + Employability + Mobility + Innovation + International Cooperation
Education, Certification and CPD Cooperation
Education and continuing professional development are central to the partnership.
IIDCA and IHFA intend to facilitate cooperation in professional education, continuing education, CPD, certifications, courses, diplomas, specializations, seminars, congresses, applied research, curriculum development, faculty training, evaluator training, and professional competency development.
The organizations may also develop joint programs under an IIDCA + IHFA model or promote eligible programs through each other's institutional networks.
This creates opportunities for future international educational initiatives that can bring together educators and professionals from different regions.
Professional Recognition and Mobility
Another important objective is to facilitate professional and educational mobility.
The agreement expresses a willingness to facilitate processes involving educational background evaluation, recognition of education and training, equivalencies, institutional validation, competency certification, educational credits, academic progression, access to educational programs, and recognition of professional experience—subject to the laws and professional requirements of the relevant country.
Importantly, the agreement itself does not constitute governmental homologation, professional licensure, or official recognition of degrees or qualifications. Any recognition process must comply with applicable local regulations and competent authorities.
Creating International Career Opportunities
The partnership also extends beyond education.
IIDCA and IHFA intend to cooperate in creating professional opportunities through employment opportunity dissemination, connections with companies, candidate referrals, professional practice programs, internships where legally applicable, professional exchanges, employment-oriented training, international competency development, networking, and mobility programs.
The goal is to help professionals access broader international networks and opportunities without guaranteeing any particular employment position.

Building a Global Professional Network
The IHFA–IIDCA collaboration represents more than an institutional partnership. It establishes a framework for connecting professional communities across two important regions.
By combining education, certification, CPD, professional networking, employability, mobility, innovation, and international cooperation, the organizations seek to create new opportunities for professionals and institutions in the health, fitness, sports, wellness, and allied sciences sectors.
The agreement establishes an IIDCA–IHFA International Cooperation Committee, initially represented by Rodrigo A. Franco, President of IIDCA, and Dr. Vipin Kumar PT, Founder & Managing Director of IHFA, to define projects, approve operational initiatives, evaluate results, develop new programs, and supervise international expansion.
A New Bridge Between Two Regions
The strategic cooperation between IHFA and IIDCA marks an important step toward stronger international collaboration in the health, fitness, sports, wellness, and allied sciences sectors.
With IIDCA strengthening its cooperation platform in Latin America and IHFA supporting international development across South Asia, the partnership creates a framework through which professionals, educators, institutions, and organizations can connect across borders.
