October 17, 2026 Press Release

CPR and First Aid Training for Coaches and Physical Education Teachers at Meerut

Meerut, Uttar Pradesh | Step to Success School | October 2026

The International Health and Fitness Association (IHFA), UK, in collaboration with the Indian Rope Skipping Federation (IRSF), will organize a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training program on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for sports coaches, physical education teachers, trainers, and other interested sports professionals at Step to Success School, Baghpat Road, Meerut.

Step to Success School is hosting the CBSE National Rope Skipping Championship (Boys) from 23 to 28 October 2026, bringing together approximately 400 participants from across India. Recognizing the importance of safety and emergency preparedness in competitive sports, IHFA and IRSF have mutually agreed to organize this professional development initiative for interested coaches and trainers during the championship.

Why CPR and First Aid Training for Sports Coaches?

Sports coaches and physical education teachers play a vital role in maintaining a safe sporting environment. During training sessions and competitions, athletes may experience injuries, sudden cardiac arrest, breathing difficulties, heat-related illness, or other medical emergencies.

CPR and First Aid training can help sports professionals:

  • Recognize medical emergencies and respond promptly.

  • Learn essential CPR skills and the appropriate use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), where available.

  • Provide initial first aid while awaiting professional medical assistance.

  • Understand emergency response procedures at sporting events.

  • Promote a culture of safety, preparedness, and athlete welfare in schools and sports institutions.

The training aims to strengthen participants' practical knowledge and emergency-response readiness. Practical skills will be taught by appropriately qualified trainers, with the training format and certification determined by the program requirements.

Mrs. Rashmi Mishra, Principal of Step to Success School, Meerut, emphasized the importance of athlete safety and professional development in school sports.

“Hosting the CBSE National Rope Skipping Championship is a matter of pride for our school. With participants arriving from across India, the safety and well-being of every athlete remain our priority. CPR and First Aid training for sports coaches, physical education teachers, and trainers is a valuable initiative that can help them respond more confidently and responsibly during emergencies. We appreciate the collaborative efforts of IHFA and IRSF in promoting sports safety and professional development.”

This initiative reflects the shared commitment of IHFA and IRSF to promoting professional development, emergency preparedness, and athlete welfare in the Indian sports ecosystem.

By integrating CPR and First Aid awareness with a national-level sporting event, the organizations aim to encourage schools, sports federations, coaches, and trainers to make emergency preparedness an essential part of sports management.

The International Health and Fitness Association (IHFA) is an international professional organization focused on education, professional certification, skill development, and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) across healthcare, rehabilitation, sports, fitness, and wellness.
