Dr. Baneet Sharma is a High Performance Analyst (Strength & Conditioning) with the Sports Authority of India at the Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (NSNIS), National Centre of Excellence, Patiala. He currently heads the Strength & Conditioning Department at NSNIS Patiala, where he works closely with elite and Olympic-bound athletes, supporting their preparation for major national and international competitions through evidence-based strength and conditioning programs and performance analysis.
With over 10 years of experience in high-performance sport, Dr. Sharma has worked with several leading sports organisations in India. His experience includes working with the Mumbai KDA Sports Medicine Team as a Sports Scientist at Mumbai , The Indian Badminton Team, and athletes competing in the Indian Super League (ISL), in addition to his work with the Sports Authority of India. Through these roles, he has contributed to enhancing athletes’ strength, power, speed, and overall physical performance.
Dr. Sharma has also been actively involved in coach education and professional development, contributing to the organisation of ASCA Strength and Conditioning Level 1 and Level 2 courses in India. His professional interests include long-term athlete development (LTAD), performance optimisation, injury prevention, and the integration of sports science into high-performance training environments.
